Roadscanners
The Roadscanners company specializes in the develoment and services for monitoring and improving the traffic network. The company, based in Rovaniemi, Finland, was established in 1997, but it plays an active role in projects all over Europe. Using its defectoscopy (NDT) and georadar (GPR), Roadscanners is focused on monitoring and analyzing problematic parts of roads, streets, bridge constructions, airports and railroads.
Partnership details
The Roadscanners company joined the Quantum 3D Project in 2010. Our cooperation is mainly based on projects that require georadar technology. Together, we have created a unique method to diagnoze the condition of roads which combines georadar and deflectometer measurements, as well as 3D mobile mapping. This approach gives us a complex set of information about the condition of the surface and underground layers, and therefore makes the designing and reconstruction of road constructions more accurate and cost-effective. In the Pardubice region, we used this diagnostics method in the project of the reconstruction and modernisation of second class roads. In 2010 and 2011 we also cooperated on street mapping in Rovaniemi and numerous projects for the Finnish Transport Agency.
